Children and Youth
The Woods offers opportunities for youth and children to participate in bible study, fellowship, worship, and service in the church and community.
College Students
We love college students! We want to encourage you in your faith during your college journey. Students attend worship services together, Sunday Morning small groups, and monthly suppers in church members’ homes. Also, Wednesday night dinner is free for college students! We work closely with the Baptist Student Ministry at UT Tyler to engage the campus, meet new students, and support BSM ministries and staff.
Young Adults
Young Adults are a vibrant and active group at The Woods. Young adults connect and grow together through Sunday morning small group, Wednesday evening home group, and serving in ministriy together. There are opportunities for young adults to serve, grow in ministry, and take on leadership responsibilities at The Woods.
Multigenerational Sunday School Class
Our Multigenerational Sunday School class is an opportunity for sharing wisdom, knowledge, encouragement, energy, enthusiasm, hurts, difficult times, and fellowship across generations to create unity across all ages. Participation has been growing and fulfilling. We are always working to develop creative opportunities for meaningful connections across generations.
Senior Adults
Our Senior adults are a dedicated group of members who strive to serve their community and provide leadership to the church. A growing number are embracing discipleship among other church and community members to share their experience and spiritual maturity.
Women of the Woods
The Women of The Woods (WOW) are committed to weekly Bible studies on Wednesday evenings, regular fellowship dinners, and a sewing group that makes items for distribution by local and foreign missionaries.
Missions
The Woods has a strong heart for missions and participates in as many opportunities and trips as possible. Mission efforts include East Texas Food Bank, Hand Up Network, Clarkston Elementary School (2023), Mission Arlington, Operation Christmas Child, Beach Reach (partnership with BSM), and sending student missionaries.
We also participate in the Texas Baptist Hunger Offering, Lottie Moon, and Mary Hill Davis mission offerings.
Choir and Praise Teams
The worship team looks different each Sunday worship service. There are multiple places to serve and find fellowship in this ministry! The Woods Choir leads worship on the second Sunday of each month and rehearses on the Sunday evening prior at 5:00 pm in the sanctuary. The choir offers an open invitation to everyone who follows Jesus and wants to worship through singing. If playing an instrument or singing with a praise team is more your thing, reach out to Zaca Wilson (our Minister of Music and Students) by contacting the church office.
