Mission Statement
The Woods Baptist Church is a fellowship of born-again believers seeking to live by the teaching of God’s Word. Our purpose is to magnify God by evangelizing the lost, worshiping and praising together, encouraging Christians toward spiritual maturity, and equipping Christians for ministry.
Our Faith, Our Journey
As a faith family we believe the love of God is most clearly expressed in the person and work of Jesus. He is our Savior and our Lord. We are devoted to prayer and we are confident that our conversations with our Heavenly Father will change both the world around us and our daily lives. As a people of faith, we have no higher calling than to worship Him. As a result, we are to share and show His love with others. This is what brings believers true joy.
Life at the Woods Baptist Church centers around the relationships we build in our daily lives. Our relationships allow us to experience true fellowship, spiritual growth and work together to meet the needs placed before us. Through fellowship, discipleship and ministry, we work to share and to show the love of Christ with all.

Our History
The Woods Baptist Church was established in 1997 on the east side of the City of Tyler adjacent to UT Tyler to reach college students and the many families living nearby. Our strategic location provides tremendous opportunities to engage UT Tyler, The Woods subdivision, Clarkston Elementary School, numerous established neighborhoods, and several new housing developments still under construction. God has used our history and location to establish four priorities in the life and ministry of our church: Multi-generational Community, Missional Outreach and Sending, Discipleship, and College Students.
We are one of 90 Baptist churches in the Smith Baptist Association. The Woods Baptist Church is affiliated with and proudly supports Texas Baptists (BGCT), SBC, Smith Baptist Association, and Baptist Student Ministry (BSM).
